So after 2017's whirlwind of wedding planning and settling into our new home, the new year brought the huge & terrifying decision: going full-time freelance. With my husband's support & an enthusiastic bark from our dachshund, I am my own business now! Omg, guys.
The past few days have been the first time I have ever solely worked from home after years & years of commuting to the city (or further!). Let me tell you that this has been exhilarating, terrifying, exciting...but mainly I have already learned that self-discipline is key. My goal from 8am - Noon is to absolutely not be lazy. I figure if I can at least get something done with my first cup of coffee for the day, I'm on the right track. So far this plan has been working.

My overarching goals with this new venture are to establish steady work with a few clients regarding their marketing and/or writing ventures. I already have one established client, and another potential in the works. But my other goal is to be able to finally establish myself as a writer, beyond just the marketing focus. Writing is the one thing I have always pursued in my career, but always took the backseat to marketing initiatives. I went to school to learn invaluable skills in web content development & professional writing, and loved every second of it. This is where my ever-slow moving blog started in fact - as a school assignment!
Since I decided I wanted to be a writer full time, I wanted to start this blog as a way to share my journey with others who may be in the same situation. I have been given an opportunity I never thought I would have (thanks to my wonderful husband who has believed in me from the start).
Moving forward I want to share my experiences with you, and maybe you will share yours with me!
Here's to 2018. A new & exciting adventure :)
